Maternity sessions have a special place in my heart. It's such an incredible time right before a life altering moment. It's a different pace- it's slower, there's more room to take it in. I spent the morning with the cutest family. This was their last child they were going to have and wanted to document in a special way. The love they had for each other was so kind and sweet. I wanted to create a dreamy session that would look timeless, yet still capture them as they are. The draping sheet and blankets are a go-to; they always add interest, texture, and bring the focus onto the mama. It was a bright, sunny, and very warm morning. I was really looking forward to this maternity session in Orange County, because we went to my favorite park to shoot at!

I'm definitely starting to love maternity sessions a lot more. They're so dreamy and serene and have a calmer energy. I say this all the time and I'll never stop saying this, but I am so grateful I'm chosen to capture such important and meaningful moments in people's lives.

Amber and Nick reached out because they wanted to commemorate their last pregnancy with a special photo session. As parents of two, they were looking forward to bringing their daughter into the world. The kids were running around and enjoying the park during the whole session. I love shooting at this park in Fullerton in Orange County because it's green year round, there's tons of shade, and it's not very well known! I set up this sheet as a backdrop because I wanted more of a "dreamy" feel. Amber and Nick did amazing and I'm so happy to share these with you!
